Pitch Checker is made by one person. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, email pitchchecker (at) unfoldmusicapp (dot) comand you'll get a reply, usually within a couple of days.
For bug reports, it helps to mention your device, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.
A couple of quick answers
- How do practice reminders work?
- In Settings, choose one, two or three reminders a day and set their times. Allow notifications when asked. Reminders are skipped if you practised in the last hour, and refresh when you open the app. They stop after a week without opening it. Choose Off to cancel them, or check your device's notification settings if they don't appear.
- Does the app detect my pitch?
- No, on purpose. It records your attempt so you can listen back, then you pick the note you think you sang. Hearing the difference yourself is the exercise.
- What if microphone access is off?
- You can still play the reference and log your check without a recording. Turn it back on in Settings → Pitch Checker → Microphone.
- It said it didn't catch a note.
- A take needs a sustained sound louder than the room — taps and mic pops don't count. Try again a little closer to the phone.
- Are my journal and recordings backed up?
- There's no account or cloud sync — everything lives on your device. Share journal as CSV (in Settings) exports your entries; individual takes can be shared from the Journal or found in Files under On My iPhone › Pitch Checker › takes. Uninstalling the app deletes both.
- What data does the app collect?
- The app does not upload recordings or journal data to the developer. You can choose to share recordings and exports yourself. See the Privacy Policy. There's no analytics, advertising, or tracking.
